Payments & deposits

The deposit lands before the dog does.

The deposit arrives with the booking. Checkout is one tap on the card on file. No-shows pay the fee you set.

  • Runs on Stripe, pays out to your bank
  • No cut of your grooms, ever
  • Deposits, tips, and refunds in one ledger

Deposits at booking.

One percentage, set once for your whole shop. It is charged the moment they book and comes off the bill at pickup, so the balance is the only number anyone has to think about at the counter. The card stays on file for that.

No-shows pay the fee.

Clients agree to your policy when they book and leave a card. Mark the miss and the fee charges itself against the wording they agreed to, which is kept with the booking rather than reconstructed later. An owner can waive it instead.

Your money, your account.

Every charge runs on Stripe and lands in your own bank account. Card numbers never touch our servers.

Live in three steps

Most groomers are taking deposits within a day of signing up.

  1. Connect your bankStripe asks for your business details once. Payouts land in the same account your rent comes out of.
  2. Set prices and depositsPrices per service and per size, and one deposit percentage for the shop. The booking flow charges it without you asking.
  3. Charge at pickupTap the card on file, or take cash and mark it. Either way it lands in the same ledger, against the same appointment.

Questions groomers ask

The processor's published rate, passed through. GroomSpark adds no markup and takes no cut of your bookings.

No — and there is no reader to buy from us. The deposit is taken inside the booking, the balance goes to the card on file at pickup, and cash is one tap. Card-present hardware is not something GroomSpark sells or pairs today.

Yes. Mark it paid in cash and it lands in your reports alongside everything else.

Stripe runs the dispute — that part is theirs. What GroomSpark keeps is the record that usually settles one: the appointment, the signed waiver, and the exact policy wording the client agreed to when they booked, stored at the time rather than reconstructed afterwards. You send it to Stripe.

Price by service and size, then override on a single appointment when a coat turns out worse than the booking suggested.

On your own Stripe payout schedule, into your own bank account. The money is never routed through GroomSpark, so there is nothing here for us to release or hold — a charge settles into your Stripe balance and pays out the way Stripe pays you out.
