MoeGo alternatives: pick the one that fixes why you're leaving
MoeGo alternatives sorted by the reason you're leaving: per-van pricing, the SMS cap, no website on your own domain, or boarding. Prices checked 2026-09-01.
Nobody searches for MoeGo alternatives in the abstract. Something specific
pushed you here. A bill that grew every time you added a van, a month where
the text allowance ran out on the 19th, a customer who asked for your website
and you sent them a link with moego.pet in it.
Which of those it was decides your answer completely. The tool that fixes the per-van math is not the tool that fixes the website problem, and half the comparison posts on this topic will hand you the same ranked list of seven vendors regardless. So this one is organized by the reason, not by the vendor.
Prices checked 2026-09-01, from each vendor's own live pricing page.
Stay on MoeGo if the route is the job
If you run three or more vans across a metro and your day lives or dies on drive time, MoeGo is probably still your best buy and you should close this tab.
Smart Schedule and one-click route optimization are the strongest route product in this category. Nobody else here is close, including us. MoeGo also has abandoned-booking recovery, an intelligent waitlist, no-show protection, a branded phone number on Ultimate, and a published API on Enterprise. That is a real product built by people who understand mobile grooming.
Switching away from that to save forty dollars a month, when routing is what makes six appointments a day possible instead of four, is a bad trade.
Still here? Then the thing pushing you out is one of the four below.
First, work out which MoeGo you are paying for
This trips up half the comparisons written about MoeGo, so get it straight before you do any math.
MoeGo publishes two different price sheets at one URL. The default view is mobile grooming, priced per van: Basic $49, Growth $99, Ultimate $159. Flip it to salon and it is priced per location: Basic $79, Growth $149, Ultimate $239. Enterprise pricing is not published on either sheet.
So "MoeGo starts at $49" is true only if you run a van. If you have a storefront, your entry price is $79, and Basic caps you at 2 staff on salon or 1 on mobile. Multi-unit needs Growth or above no matter which sheet you are on.
Write down your actual number before you compare anything. Most of the disappointment in this category comes from comparing someone else's tier to a tier you were never on.
Leaving because the bill grew with the fleet
Arithmetic, not opinion. MoeGo prices per van. Three vans on Growth is $297/mo. Five vans is $495. The software did not get more capable when van four arrived; the invoice just tracked your headcount.
Groomer.io prices the same way and will not help you: $99/mo list per storefront or van, currently promoted at $79, so a five-van operation is on the same escalator. Their pricing page and their help center disagree about which number is real, which is worth knowing before you budget. The pricing page shows $99 with a limited-time $79 promo; the help center states $79 flatly.
Three vendors do not price per unit at all:
Pawfinity has no seat cap on any tier, including the $55/mo annual entry tier ($60 monthly). Unlimited calendars, employee logins, clients, pets. The Royal Package is $100/mo annual, $110 monthly. Nobody else in this set gives you unlimited seats at the bottom of the ladder, and it deserves saying out loud.
Square Appointments is $0/mo on Free, $49 on Plus, $149 on Premium, all per location, and every tier including the free one has unlimited staff calendars. Square's own wording is that there is no employee limit.
GroomSpark is $99/mo flat and vans are free, because a van is a groomer, not a location. Additional storefronts are $49.99/mo. If you have five vans and one address, you pay $99.
Five vans on MoeGo mobile Growth is $495/mo. The same operation on Pawfinity Royal is $100. That gap is large enough to survive whatever else you weight.
Leaving because you ran out of texts
Most of what gets written about MoeGo's texting is guesswork. The documented version:
MoeGo gives you a capped allowance. Salon Basic is 300 texts a month, salon Growth and Ultimate are 1,350. Mobile Basic is 200, mobile Growth is 900. Ultimate adds unlimited automated messages on the salon sheet. What MoeGo does not publish is the overage rate. The allowance is stated and the page stops. Anyone quoting you a per-message overage price for MoeGo is making it up, and you should treat the rest of their numbers accordingly.
What that means practically: you cannot forecast a busy December. If you send a 7-day confirmation, a 48-hour reminder, and a 2-hour ping, which is the cadence that actually cuts no-shows, that is three texts per appointment. A hundred appointments a month is 300 texts, which is exactly salon Basic's entire allowance, before a single two-way conversation with a client.
The alternatives split into three models, and the model matters more than the rate:
Unlimited and included. Groomer.io bundles unlimited SMS, unlimited two-way texting, and automated phone calls into the base plan. That is a genuine match for us on this axis and we are not going to pretend otherwise. GroomSpark does the same: texting is unmetered on the $99 plan, no tier gates it, no overage line appears in a busy month.
Metered with a published rate card. Pawfinity is the most transparent vendor in the set here: 5.0 cents per message under 500/mo, 4.5 cents from 501 to 1,000, 4.0 cents from 1,001 to 1,500, and 3.5 cents above that. Inbound replies are free. You can build a spreadsheet from that, which is more than MoeGo's page lets you do. One caveat: the 250 complimentary credits are Royal Package only. The $55 to $60 tiers say "Complimentary SMS Credits" with no number, so a Groom and Train shop genuinely cannot price its texting from the page.
Square splits texting in two and you should not conflate them. Appointment reminders by text and email are included on all three tiers with no stated allowance. Text message marketing is separate: unavailable on Free, 500 messages a month per account on Plus then 3 cents each, 2,500 on Premium then 1.5 cents. Note "per account", not per location.
Bring your own. ProPet is Twilio pass-through with no allowance and no ProPet rate, billed per use through a Twilio account you provision yourself. There is no figure to quote and there is real setup work on you.
Then there is Gingr, which publishes nothing. Texting sells as two separate add-ons, "2-Way SMS" and "Messaging Bundle", and neither has a published price. "Automated Notifications" is included on every plan with no channel or quantity stated. Four price-gated add-ons, zero numbers. If the SMS cap is why you are leaving MoeGo, Gingr replaces a known ceiling with an unknown invoice.
DaySmart is the closest structural match to what you are leaving: 500 texts on Basic, 1,000 on Deluxe, 2,500 on Premium, 5,000 on Premium Growth, with the overage rate unpublished. Worse, Two-Way Texting is a contact-for-pricing add-on that only bundles at Deluxe Growth and above. On Basic or Deluxe you cannot buy two-way texting at any published price.
Leaving because you want a website
People are least precise about this one, so precision first.
MoeGo has no website product. What it has is an online booking portal on
MoeGo's own domain, at a URL shaped like
booking.moego.pet/ol/landing?name=your-shop. The Ultimate tier lets you
inject custom CSS and JavaScript into that booking page. Enterprise adds a
custom-built pet parent portal. Both of those are real features. Neither is a
marketing site on a domain you own, and no amount of CSS turns a booking
portal into a set of pages that rank for "dog groomer" plus your town.
The uncomfortable part is that most of the alternatives are the same. Gingr includes a Customer Portal and runs booking through it, with no website product. Pawfinity has Advanced Online Booking and the word "website" does not appear on its pricing page at all. ProPet has Online Booking as a feature and does not state the domain. If a website is the reason you are leaving MoeGo, three of the six alternatives here do not solve your problem.
The ones that do something:
DaySmart sells a website as a $15/mo add-on, listed against every tier including the $199 Premium. It is never bundled. It is a template builder, and $15 is roughly what that buys.
Groomer.io sells a grooming-specific site built by their team from a template, with SEO work and ongoing support, at $99/mo list and $79 promo, priced per storefront or van like the software. Site plus software is $158/mo promo or $198 list. A real website by a real team, at roughly double what you are paying now.
Square includes an online booking website on every tier, but custom domain connect is Plus and Premium only. A solo groomer on the $0 plan has a booking site on a Square-owned domain and pays $49/mo to point their own domain at it, plus the registration. Same shape as the problem you left, just cheaper.
Then us. GroomSpark includes a multi-page site on your own domain in the $99, with booking built into it rather than linked from it, and the SEO baseline done correctly on day one: per-page meta, LocalBusiness and Service structured data, a real sitemap, semantic markup. We wrote up what a grooming website that actually books looks like separately, because it is a longer argument than fits here.
Being blunt about the trade: if you leave MoeGo for us, you are trading the best route product in the category for a website you own. That is a good trade for a salon and a bad one for a five-van mobile operation, and you already know which you are.
Leaving because you started boarding
MoeGo is grooming software. If you have added overnight stays or daycare and are running them on a whiteboard, you want a different category of product, and we are not in it either.
Gingr is the answer here. Spa, their grooming and training tier, is $109/mo or $100 billed annually. Play is $169 monthly and $142 annual, Stay is $179 monthly and $154 annual. Every plan includes the whole platform, with no published staff seat cap, location cap, or volume cap. What you get is genuine boarding depth: multi-night reservations, a live kennel occupancy grid with auto-assignment, feeding and medication tracking, staff-to-pet ratio capacity rules, groomer-to-breed assignment on Spa, multi-location reporting on every tier. Nobody else in this set is close on kennel operations.
Two things to price in. Gingr's shown prices assume you use their Integrated Payments; declining costs $30/mo more on the software, so Stay is $209 rather than $179. And the add-ons noted above are unpriced.
ProPet is the other real boarding option and it is priced differently, in a way that suits some shops much better. It is modular rather than tiered. Pet and Client Manager is the $49.99/mo required base, then grooming adds $15, daycare $15, boarding $20, training $20. A grooming-only shop is $64.99 and is not paying for kennel features it never opens, which is a fairer model than most of this category offers. First month free.
The thing to know before you commit: there is a mandatory one-time setup fee that is easy to miss. It is waived on a two-year subscription, $50 per module annually, and $75 per module on monthly billing. A monthly grooming customer pays $150 up front for two modules. Data migration is free with their template, $150 standard, $300 complex. Annual pricing is not published; directory sites quoting an annual figure do not reconcile with the vendor's own base-plus-module structure, so do not plan around one.
The comparison, in one table
| Entry price | Priced per | Texting | Website on your domain | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MoeGo | $79 salon, $49 van | Location or van | Capped, overage unpublished | No |
| Gingr | $109/mo, $100 annual | Flat, no unit cap | Add-ons, unpriced | No |
| DaySmart Pet | $29 with payments | Location | Capped, overage unpublished | $15/mo add-on |
| Groomer.io | $99 list, $79 promo | Storefront or van | Unlimited, included | $79 to $99/mo add-on |
| Pawfinity | $55 annual, $60 monthly | Flat, no seat cap | Metered, 3.5 to 5 cents | No |
| ProPet | $64.99 grooming-only | Modules | Your own Twilio | No |
| Square Appointments | $0 | Location | Reminders included | Custom domain on $49+ |
| GroomSpark | $99 | Flat, vans free | Unmetered | Included |
Processing rates are not published by MoeGo, DaySmart, Groomer.io, Pawfinity or ProPet, so they are not in the table. Square publishes its rates and they matter: online is 3.3% plus 30 cents on Free against 2.9% on Plus and Premium. A shop taking $10,000 a month in online deposits on the free plan pays about $40 more in fees than a Plus subscriber, which is most of the $49 the plan costs. That is the real price of the free tier.
Before you move anything
Three things worth doing in order, whichever way you go.
Pick your slowest month. Migration eats a week of admin even when it goes cleanly, and the errors you make in week two should not land on a December book.
Get your client and pet list out of MoeGo and into a spreadsheet before you cancel anything, and confirm with your new vendor what import format they take. We deliberately have nothing to tell you about MoeGo's export process, because we have not verified it, and a guess here would cost you more than the guess is worth.
Then run the arithmetic on your own volume rather than on a table. Your van count, your location count, your monthly text volume, your online deposit share. Half the vendors on this page are cheaper than MoeGo for some shop and more expensive for another, and the only input that settles it is yours.
If you want the framework rather than the vendor list, we wrote up how to choose grooming software, and the pricing traps in this category get their own post because per-seat, per-van, per-location and metered SMS all fail differently.

Common questions
What is the cheapest MoeGo alternative?
Square Appointments, at $0/mo per location with unlimited staff calendars and text reminders included. The catch is the online processing rate of 3.3% plus 30 cents on the free tier, and the fact that it has no breed, coat, or vaccination fields. Pawfinity's $55/mo annual tier is the cheapest grooming-specific option with no seat cap.
Does MoeGo charge for text messages over the plan allowance?
MoeGo publishes the allowance for each tier and stops there. Salon Basic is 300 texts a month, mobile Basic is 200, and Growth and above is 1,350 or 900. There is no published overage rate, so what happens past the cap is not something you can price out from the pricing page. Ask them directly before you plan around it.
Does MoeGo include a website?
No. MoeGo has an online booking portal that lives on booking.moego.pet at a URL like booking.moego.pet/ol/landing?name=your-shop. The Ultimate tier lets you inject custom CSS and JavaScript into that booking page, and Enterprise adds a custom pet parent portal, but neither is a marketing site on a domain you own.
Why is MoeGo $49 on one page and $79 on another?
MoeGo publishes two price sheets at the same URL. The default view is mobile grooming priced per van, which starts at $49. Switch to the salon view and it is priced per location, starting at $79. If you run a storefront, $79 is your number.
Should I switch grooming software mid-season?
No. Move in your slowest month. Any migration eats a week of admin even when it goes cleanly, and the mistakes you make in week two should not land on holiday bookings.
