GroomSpark vs MoeGo: price, texting, and who owns your website
MoeGo bills per van and per location and caps your texting. We are $99 flat with a real website on your domain. Where each one actually wins.
Buy MoeGo if you run vans.
That is the honest verdict and it belongs at the top rather than buried under a table. If you have two or more mobile units crossing a metro and your profit is decided by drive time between stops, MoeGo's Smart Schedule and one-click route optimization are the strongest route product anyone in this category ships. We do not have them. We do not have a weaker version of them. Building routes by hand around our calendar would cost you more every week than the price difference between the two products. Buy MoeGo.
Same answer if you board or run daycare. MoeGo publishes separate price sheets for boarding, daycare and training. We build none of that and are not planning to.
Still here? Then you are probably a salon, or a single van, and your next ten clients are going to find you by searching for a groomer near them.

The one-line difference
MoeGo gives you a booking page on MoeGo's domain. We give you a website on yours, with the booking built into it.
That reads like a small distinction until you follow the traffic. A MoeGo
booking page lives at booking.moego.pet/ol/landing?name=your-slug.
Every link a customer shares points there. Every bit of search authority
that page earns over three years belongs to MoeGo, and if you leave, it
stays with MoeGo. The Ultimate tier lets you inject custom CSS and
JavaScript into that page, and Enterprise adds a custom pet parent
portal, which are real features but are not the same thing as owning the
address. A website here means multiple pages on a domain you registered,
with your services, your photos, your city, and your booking flow on the
same site.
If the website is not the reason you are shopping, most of the rest of this page will not move you much, and MoeGo alternatives is the more useful read.

Where MoeGo is genuinely better
Routing. Smart Schedule and one-click route optimization. This is their flagship and it deserves the billing. Nothing we ship touches it.
Abandoned-booking recovery is the next one I would miss. Someone starts booking, drops out halfway, and MoeGo chases them down. That is a real revenue feature and we do not have it. Their waitlist is a more developed product than ours, which only fills cancellations. And their no-show protection has teeth ours does not: card on file, pre-authorization, or prepayment, your choice per service. Ours is deposits and card on file, which covers most shops but not all of them.
On the Ultimate tier you can pick a branded phone number with an area code you choose. Small feature, disproportionately loved by the shops that have it. Enterprise adds a published API, so if you have a developer and something to integrate, that matters and we cannot help you.
Boarding, daycare and training are separate MoeGo products with their own pricing. A groomer who also boards is a MoeGo customer, not ours.
Where we are better
You get a website, not a booking link. Your domain, your pages, your photos, and the booking sits inside it rather than at the end of a redirect. This is the whole reason the product exists. There is a longer argument for why that matters in what a grooming website that actually books looks like.
The SEO is also correct on the day it goes live: structured data, per-page meta, a real sitemap, semantic markup, alt text. Most grooming sites get this wrong, which makes it the cheapest advantage available in this category, and almost nobody bothers to take it.
Texting is unmetered. Not a bigger bucket. No bucket. MoeGo's salon Basic gives you 300 messages a month and Growth gives you 1,350, and past that the pricing page stops talking. We do not count.
And one price covers all of it. $99 a month, whether you have one van or four, one location or three, one groomer or nine.
The price math
MoeGo publishes two different price sheets at the same URL and the default view is the mobile one. That is the source of most of the wrong numbers you will read about MoeGo online, including in comparison posts written by people who never clicked the toggle.
Mobile, billed per van: Basic $49 with 1 staff and 200 texts, Growth $99 with unlimited staff and 900 texts, Ultimate $159. Salon, billed per location: Basic $79 with up to 2 staff and 300 texts, Growth $149 with unlimited staff and 1,350 texts, Ultimate $239. Enterprise is a conversation, not a price. No annual discount is advertised on either sheet, and Basic is a single-unit plan, so a second van or a second location puts you on Growth or above regardless of what else you need.
Here is what that does to four real shops.
One van, solo groomer. MoeGo Basic is $49. We are $99. MoeGo wins on price and it is not close, and if a website is not part of what you want, you should take the $49. What you give up is the 200-message cap, which is roughly 66 appointments a month at three reminder touches each, and that is a low ceiling for a groomer working five days a week.
Three vans. MoeGo Basic caps at one staff member and is single-unit, so three vans means Growth at $99 each. That is $297 a month. We are $99 flat, because a van is a groomer, not a business. The gap is $198 a month, $2,376 a year, and it grows with every van you add.
One salon, three groomers. MoeGo salon Basic tops out at two staff, so you are on Growth at $149. We are $99. That is $600 a year, which is a Friday's revenue for most shops, and you also get the website in ours rather than paying somebody separately for one.
Two salons. MoeGo Growth is per location, so $298. We are $99. Call it $2,388 a year, and it doubles again at four locations while our number does not move.
The pattern is boring and it is the whole point: their number multiplies by units and ours does not. If you are one small unit, they are cheaper. If you are growing, the lines cross fast and never cross back. There is a fuller breakdown of how every vendor in this category structures that multiplier in what grooming software really costs.
The texting cap is the part people underestimate
Run the arithmetic on your own book before you pick a tier.
A reminder cadence that actually cuts no-shows is three touches: a confirmation a week out, a reminder at 48 hours, and a short ping two hours before. Add a ready-for-pickup text and you are at four messages per appointment, and that is before a single back-and-forth reply about parking or a mat behind the ears.
A salon doing 60 grooms a week is around 240 appointments a month. At four messages each, that is 960 messages. MoeGo salon Basic gives you 300. Growth gives you 1,350, so you fit, until you have a busy December or you start replying to clients in the same thread. MoeGo does not publish an overage rate, so there is no way to price that December in advance. The allowance is stated, and past the allowance the page is silent.
That is not a gotcha and I am not going to pretend I know what they charge. I am saying the number is unknowable from the outside, and a cost you cannot forecast is a worse cost than a high one you can. Ours is forecastable because there is nothing to forecast. Texting is included and we do not meter it.
Why the domain matters more than it sounds
The objection I hear is fair: a booking page is a booking page, the dog gets groomed either way, who cares what the URL says.
Here is who cares. Google cares, because the page that accumulates links
and clicks is the page that ranks, and if that page is on
booking.moego.pet then the ranking belongs to a subdirectory of someone
else's site. Your Google Business Profile cares, because the website
field wants a site, and a booking link there gives a stranger no way to
see your before-and-after photos, your prices by coat and size, or the
fact that you have been on that corner for eleven years. So does the
customer who found you on Instagram. Tapping through to a bare scheduling
widget with a logo on it tells her nothing about whether you are the
right groomer for a matted doodle.
And you care in five years, when you have sent a few thousand people to an address you do not control. A website is an asset in the same way your client list is. Renting one is fine right up until the month you want to leave.
None of that argues MoeGo built the wrong thing. A booking portal is the correct product if your customers already know you and just need a time slot. It is the wrong product if your growth depends on people who have never heard of you.
What is included at $99
Unlimited staff. Unlimited locations and vans. The website, on your domain, with the pages generated for your business rather than a template you fill in. Unmetered SMS and email. Online booking that a first-time customer can complete without an intake detour. Deposits and card on file. Multi-touch reminders. A client and pet record with coat notes, breed, and photo history.
There is no tier above it and no add-on rate card. If you find a feature in the product, it is in the $99.
Payment processing
Neither of us publishes a rate you can just read off a page. MoeGo's processing rates are not on their pricing page. Ours run through Stripe, so the rate is Stripe's and you can go look it up right now without talking to anyone. That is a difference in transparency rather than a difference in cost, and I would not switch software over it.
So who should buy what
Buy MoeGo if you run multiple vans, if you board or do daycare, if you want the strongest routing engine on the market, or if you are a solo van who wants the cheapest workable subscription and does not care about a website.
Buy us if you are a salon or a small mobile operation whose growth depends on strangers finding you, if you are tired of watching a message counter, or if you have more than one unit and are done paying for each one twice.
If you want the full field rather than a head-to-head, the eight-tool comparison has published prices for everyone including the vendors that beat us on features.
The trial is 14 days and does not ask for a card. Your site is built before you decide.
Common questions
Should I buy MoeGo instead of GroomSpark?
If you run more than one mobile van and your day is decided by drive time, yes. MoeGo's Smart Schedule and one-click route optimization are the best routing product in this category and we do not have an equivalent. Same answer if you board or run daycare, which we do not build at all.
How much does MoeGo actually cost?
It depends which price sheet you land on. Mobile is billed per van: Basic $49, Growth $99, Ultimate $159. Salon is billed per location: Basic $79, Growth $149, Ultimate $239. Enterprise pricing is not published. The widely quoted $49 is the van price, not the salon price.
What happens if I go over MoeGo's text message limit?
MoeGo publishes the allowance for each tier and does not publish what happens past it. Salon Basic is 300 messages a month, Growth and Ultimate are 1,350. There is no overage rate on the pricing page, so plan around the cap rather than around a per-message price you cannot look up.
Does MoeGo give me a website?
No. MoeGo has an online booking portal that lives on MoeGo's own domain at booking.moego.pet. The Ultimate tier lets you inject custom CSS and JavaScript into that booking page, and Enterprise adds a custom pet parent portal. None of that is a marketing site on a domain you own.
Is GroomSpark cheaper than MoeGo?
Not always. A single mobile groomer with one van on MoeGo Basic pays $49 a month, and that is genuinely less than our $99. We get cheaper the moment you add a second van, a second location, or a second staff member on the salon sheet, because we do not multiply.
Do I have to give you a card to try GroomSpark?
No. The trial is 14 days and does not ask for a card up front.
Does GroomSpark do van routing or boarding?
Neither. If routing is why you are shopping, buy MoeGo. If you need kennels and overnight stays, buy something built for boarding. We are a grooming appointment book with the marketing website attached.
